Custom Box Dimensions
The dimensions are:
15W x 16D(1) x 13D(2) x 15H
Based on y'alls past expierences, what are my options with a box this size??
to use a slightly larger enclosure for your woofer(s) if possible
The woofers tend to sound real 'punchy' if not
also you some acoustic damping inside the box
I would recommend a sealed enclosore box with a single 12"
woofer
With the dimensions you took you will get about a 1.45cu ft.
enclosure-subtract woofer displacement .110cu ft.==1.34cu.ft
Find the woofer you plan on using and look up the recommended
enclosure volume in cu ft.--with a sealed enclosure you can give or
take about 10% of the volume --In your case I would go with the 0-10% greater than recommended which will lower your resonant
Frequency and lose some of the punchy sound--deeper bass
I just built a sealed enclosure for my extend cab f250
for a 12" woofer--it called for 1.0 cu ft.---I built the box at
16"H--16"W--10"TD--13"BD with woofer this yielded 1.10 cu ft.
sounds excellent --fits like a glove
Take your dimensions and subtract about an inch in the depth
and you will be in the ballpark for a 12" woofer
also note if you plan on sealed box--they generally sound better
firing up or to the rear of the xtend cab
