Gooseneck adapter

I have 2002 F350PSD that I just purchased. It has a Putman pop-up goosneck ball installed. I have a 28ft Alumascape 5th wheel trailer. I do not want to install rails in bed, instead I am thinking on installing a goosneck adapter on my trailer. Does anyone have any insight or experience with these type hitches. The one I am favoring is the Universal Ranch Hitch Adapter. I certainly would appreciate some input before I buy one. Thanks

By B&W hitch (in my gallery) has an available insert for a fifth wheel setup. But it might be easier for you to just get a gooseneck for your 5'er.

I would definitely recommend that you NOT try to convert your 5th-wheel into a gooseneck. The increased length of the 'neck' causes stress on the trailer's pin box that the box was not designed to handle. Do a search at www.irv2.com and www.trailerlife.com and see what the "pros" (and trailer manufacturers) have to say about it too.
