Flashing O/D Light&Hard Shift
1996 F350 S/D 7.3 PSD Auto We just pulled the camper back last night with my buddys truck. Camper pulled great truck ran good. This morning he drove it and said it is pounding into gear and the o/d is flashing. Any Help???

Same thing happened to my 2001 and I ended up needing a new transmission. All this happened at 2800 miles. Hope it's not serious, the light blinking is the transmission sending a fault code to the computer.

Don't know about the O/D light but pounding into gear is the last death throw of an auto transmission. :-( -Jaseun

my new 2002 F-350 started dong the same thing. Took it to dealer and they said it was a bad modulator. They replaced it under warranty and it has been fine ever since. ( I tow a 5,000 lb. trailer 5-6 days a week with it.) Now have 15,000 miles on it.
