E4OD Stays engaged in low 4x4
Hi, I had a rebuilt transmission put in, 4EOD, $2000 later. I have a 4x4, 1991 F250 diesel. When I engage the high 4x4, the front wheels are not engaging. When I put it in 4x4 Low, the front wheel engages and it runs in low gear no problem.
BUT when I put the lever back in normal high 2x4, it stays in low gear for quite a while. Then I drive around a bit, and finaly, playing with the shift lever, it re-engaes back to normal 2x4 high.
Could it be the transfer case? Or did the mechanic did something wrong reconnecting rods. I am going to see him back monday and would like some advices before I
him.
