Crossing to the "Darkside"
Just got my donor car, 1979 Mercury Grand Marquis, which will be giving up the 351W (rebuilt two years ago) and tranny soon. Was also looking at putting in the rear end as the width appears right. Problem is when looking at it closer, it isn't a 9 inch rear. It has a cover plate on the back and couldn't locate any serial numbers etc. This car has a ladder type suspension with coil springs and I would have thought it would have a 9 inch rear. The car is now located a ways from my house so I don't have the info off the door plate.
Anyone hazzard a guess as to what type of rear end is in this??
