Okay I'm back sorry but I been out laying in the driveway for 2 days drinking beer and eyeing my truck. You guys waiting for your order to come it will be here before you know it.Everybodys time lines and estimates posted here were almost down to the day so hang in there. The last couple of days are the worse part.I went in a diffrent direction on my truck order I got the XL with the XLT decor group. It comes with all the chrome goodies except the Chrome grille that I seemed to work in the deal thanks to a good saleman.I got a White SD 250 Crew with V-10,Auto,off-road,no carpet, knitted vinyl (which by the way isn't as ugly as it sounds)I went the less expensive way on my truck as it fits my budget 31k out the door. I ordered BFG A/T 35x12.50x16.5 tires and American Racing Bajas' 16.5x9.5 ,I also bought the "Edge" 4.5 inch bracket, shackle,Bilstiens, drop bracket and arm kit.I had all these in the garage before I even got my truck.I will install these soon and update you guys. The truck is a dream.I'm about 6'2" and about 220 and usally drive a Tacoma this new truck is the S*it.My wife who's barely able to climb up into the thing absolutly loves it. (a big plus)It's just awesome!Sorry to ramble but you know how it is.Thanks for all the info,it sure helps,Mark the Poolman
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
...I apologize if the following is a repeat...Mine took 6 weeks to the day.... That last week was a killer! But, that no longer matters cause I am now a member of the SuperDuty Family!
Here's what I got:
2002 F250 SD, SC, SB, 4x4, 6.8L v10, 3.73LS, Auto, Reverse Aid Sensor, 12,500lb Hitch, White, Lariat, Offroad Package, Manual Hubs, 40/20/40 Bench Seat, Towing Package, Camper Package, Bed Liner, and I went ahead and bought the $480 int/ext protector package.
Man, WHAT A TRUCK!
Turnkey price - $32500.... Almost to the dollar what my 2 previous trucks cost combined ('84 F150, XLT, SB, Man, 302, 4x4 and a '92 XLT, SB, SC, Auto, 5.8L, 4x4) - AND IT'S WORTH IT!
I plan on adding Husky Mud Flaps from Cabela's (f&r), a Contico Work Box, Vent Visors, a High Flow Muffler (not a whole new exhaust system, just the muffler - any suggestions?), Putco Locker Bed Rails (stainless), and a K&N Air Filter.
I am thinking about doing the air box mod I saw here on one of the FTE boards - I'll buy a spare box and if/when I need warranty work done, put the factory box and filter back on ;-) . Has anyone else done this? If so, did it make a difference (Power/Response/Milage)?
I know some of you might think I wasted my money on the protector package, but for as long as I keep a truck (10 years or so), it seemed like pretty good insurance. If anything messes up the paint or stains the interior and I can't fix it with warm soapy water, the dealer either cleans it or replaces/repaints it (dealers words).
As long as they're willing to do that, I don't care if all they did was drive it around the building a few times, hosed it off and wiped it down. I no longer have to worry about the grandkids eating chocolate ice cream in the back seat or run out and hose it off every time a bird flies over. I'll probably still wax it even though they said that with this treatment it wasn't necessary.
I imagine that I will probably go back every three years and spend the $75 to have the interior re-done and I'll be good to go (same deal on the paint, only its every 5 years) ....
Sorry for the long post, when I get to talking about my truck, I just can't seem to shut up!
I AM A HAPPY MAN!

Gary M.
