Can you tell me any thing about the motors H.P. ect.& Trans . The car is a total rust bucket now. The owner left it in a shed & the shed roof leaked & colasped on car car is no good. But i am going to use Engine & trans in car in my 1965 F-100 Short Bed. I hope it is trans. is C-6 in car this big & heavy . Car has aprox. 42,000 miles on it.
the stock 1968 390 4v has 315hp@4600rpm and 427t@3800rpm, as for the C6 it is a very good transmition behind any FE, it will hold up great behind a moded 390.
The 390 and C6 would be great to put in your 65 f100, it should fit right in depending on what motor/trans was in it before, good luck
Ok , 1965 F-100 Short Bed With 352 4v Crusise-O-Matic & a 8.9 Rear Axle , intruck now is Edelbrock intake & carb. , headers . This I know for shure The trans. went out after I bought it in 40 miles . I bought it in Burmingham , Ala. Drove it 1,000 to 1,200 mile in 1st & 2nd gear all I had , no 3rd . 50 - 55 mph Long drive home. I will be changing out trans & rebuild next month . Going to rebuild engine next winter do some in the summer months . Question ???? Is the trans Frame mounts the same for Crusise - O - Matic & C-6 I know trans mount are diff.
It should all fit. The trans mount should work as well, may just need to reposition it on the frame. Measure out the mounting points from the engine back and go from there. One item of concern for you may be what tail shaft is on the C6. If it is a longer "car type" shaft, you will need to run some drive shaft mods as well.
