I like every one else I want to convert my 67' F350 to power steering. I remember seeing somewhere though or someone who was selling the piece I need to attach the 79 gear box to the frame? Does anyone have any info on this, sure I could make one but ......
The power steering swap is most popular on '65 and '66 F-100s, so I recommend you search the '61 - '66 forum for more details.
HOWEVER:
1. Be sure to differentiate bewtween '64 (and earlier) from '65 and later. Any information from '64 and earlier will not apply, since Ford went to the Twin I-Beams in '65. (The '64 and earlier used a single front axle.)
2. I do not know if your 350 will be different than the 250 and lower, so be sure to double check everything.
In any case, if you were to find an F350 '67 - '79 which has PS and PB, you most likely can harvest the parts for yours. It is indeed the BEST way to get parts, to make sure you have all the right connectors, doo-dads, specialty bolts, etc etc for any conversions.
heres some more info on what I want to do... I will be converting my 67' to 4wd then crossover steering so what there saying is I can use a 77-79 bronco gear box since the pit man are swings correctly for my application. I will be getting a flaming river steering shaft from the column to the gear box. I also will have a 12"lift so will have I figure a 6" drop pitman also... I then will be getting the rock ram set up from AGR with the high pressure steering pump. Has anyone tried to use the 77-79 gear box?
I have not used the rock ram with the 78 to 79 Bronco box. But, I have used AGR before and they have many highly modified saginaw type boxes that would work better than the Ford box. You are going to have to build a custom mounting place for the Bronco box anyway, so why not just use the saginaw box.
