Ken,
I know, I know...
exhaust and gauges first....
but I'm an impatient one and have done the muffler delete pipe...
will this 'cool down' the 6.0L enough to get the Predator?

Will research gauge installs locally as soon as possbile...

I was told that the programmer requires Ford's latest flash. If you don't have it, take it in for it.

The Predator has been tested against external fuel boxes made by its competitors (such as Edge, Bully Dog, etc.) and it has lower EGTs. Tow modes should not pose a problem with a stock truck. Gauges before exhausts. With gauges you know exactly what your truck is doing... I recommend them even for stock.

Oh Heck...
I'm like the guy in that Circuit City commercial...

You know the one...
sitting in the car he tells his wife to put her game face on...
then gets inside and he's the one that's giddy and says
"I'll take it !"

so I'll be on the bleeding edge... gimme, gimme, gimme !

I have a Preditor. Is there a web page where I can download the PC software for linking the preditor? Is there any additional information? The manual is pretty skimpy.

I called Diablo... and they were "less than forthcoming" on the info we seek Bob...

Have had it in the +100 HP for about 4 days now and even though it is much louder when you hammer it, seems to be functioning better...
the shifting still is not perfect, but heck, it's so quick, who needs to shft

I do have a concern about this 'software' and connections to the pc they advertise, but will have to have someone else call Diablio...
I might get too angry wth their smart a$$ attitude...

And the fact that they couldn't resolve my issues with all the codes and not beng able to CLEAR the codes is another problem..

Their response "Just return it" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, set a bunch of codes and then go back to the dealer - that's a pretty picture !!!

I LIKE the performance gains, but we will have to hold ther feet to the fire to answer our issues....
Maybe the FTE Admins have some leverage to get some resolution....

The dealer I bought mine from had a similar problem. They led him through a series of keystrokes to clear his. I would like a COMPLETE manual with all capabilities.
The problem with Diablo is they are afraid to tell us too much. What they don't want is for us to flash one truck after another without buying additional hardware. This is possible since the operating system is open source. Someone has or will hack these things. Linking them to the PC only makes it easier.

ya but why hack it anyway? It looks as though they have the best prices on the programers out there. If you can't afford a piece of hardware how can you afford a new truck? It seems to me as though they are still working on the software, as you can see the link is down on their web site about it stating that its comming soon. But when it is available don't be suprised if its reather expensive. They got these things out ASAP without any real problelms. Most guys seem to be real hapy with them. Me included

The program is any terminal program with Xmodem support. Hyperterminal, included with every copy of Windows, has this. You load Hyperterminal and upload the file into the Predator. You can hook up the Predator to a PC with a standard 9 pin serial cable and a 1 amp wall transformer. Diablo also a program for the dealers that supplies Xmodem, which we can use to read programs back out of the Predator.

I might get too angry wth their smart a$$ attitude...
The language guidelines must be adhered to, angry or not, customer or not. Please don't do it again.

I can mention it to them but if you have already mentioned it to them then they are probably working on it. I know they are working on a revision, but haven't been given any details.

I'm splitting off this discussion to a seperate thread, the original topic was supposed to be an announcement only.

I have NO intention of pirating !!
I write software for a living so that has a ugly sound to me and always has...

I just hope the product meets the advertised statments...
and if it doesn't I ask why not and expect an answer in a kind and courteous manner....
And if it CREATES more issues than it resolves, sometimes it STOPS you from just returning it...

*******************
my use of the dollar signs is the FIRST time I've ever done that... and only after seeing it many times in other post..
Apologies, it won't happen again...

But that still doesn't resolve my issues...
I sent emails, pm's and off-line questions trying to resolve this and got NO response... so I thought I'd see if others were having the same issues....

Is that not the purpose of this forum ?

Please correct me if I have a mistaken understanding...
or does EVERYBODY have an agenda :-)

I want that info from Diablo and the viewer software that they promised.

FTE doesn't allow Carfax account sharing, file sharing, etc., when I see such things I address them (I'm sure some slip through). I understand your position, but I'm firmly against any type of non-licensed use software/hardware discussion on this site. I had a lot of experience writing shrink-wrap software so I'm particularly sensitive to piracy issues. There is not an "agenda" about discussion.

I'm sorry if you're having problem clearing a code and I understand it can be frustrating. When Diablo (or Superchips) becomes aware of a problem they work to resolve it ASAP but as with most software, you can't always resolve a bug overnight and solutions must be tested and go through normal software development cycles. Considering the success rate of the 6.0 Predator, its a very isolated problem and the first complaint I've heard of with the units and I talk to both Diablo and their warehouse almost daily. Most problems, but not all, when tuning a failure occurs has to do with electric accessories, same when retrieving codes. For instance, pushing the brake peddle when tuning with a Predator or Microtuner can cause a failure if the battery is weak.

Ken,
Apologies firstly...
I know what you do is hard work ! and Aprreciated ...
Let's get back on track !
you've always been a straight shooter with me !

I guess my irritation is with Diablo...
they knew about this problem 2 days after release IF they read my email to them....

and the fact they didn't respond to me doesn't bother me as much as the issue with the codes...

Only having 18K miles in 10 months, I would suspect my two batteries are well charged...
I did the process many times with as many scenarios as possibile trying to find the bug in their process....

but still my codes stay...
I'm need to bring my truck in for some adjustments and am concerned about it now... would really like a resolution now, not 3 months from now...

that's where my main frustration comes from !

off soap box now... thanks for the ramble space
