Diablo Chip evaluation

So I get the 4 bank chip from Ken in the mail today ( Icame home for lunch to meet the mailman).. I crawl into my truck and put the chip in... I dont have time to test drive it so I have to wait til after work... I come home... throw my uniform in a pile in the middle of the room... and run outside to my truck...

Thinking back to Abendx... I turn the key to the on position... wait the longest 20 seconds in the history of the world... and it fires right up...

So I jump in and sllloooowwwwllllyyyy drive to the end of the block. I get out on the main drag... and NAIL IT... Now keep in mind, I'm a protector of the peace, so after looking around to make sure no one saw me... I DO IT AGAIN... WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW....

Technically, I agree with Abendx, the shifting could be a little firmer and I did get a little nervous when the tach almost hit 6000 before shifting but the chip made a HUGE difference in the way it made my 5.4 perform....

If I had one piece of advise for us "underpowered" 5.4 owners, I would say CHIP IT !!!!

Tomorrow I go get my new 28 ft fifth wheel, about 150 miles away, so I'll see how she pulls and post it.

Thanks Ken for helping me out so much.

( Do I have to have the chip reprogrammed if I put cat back exhaust and K&N filter on.. I'm hooked on mods now )

hehehe... almost my exact thoughts... bet your smile and mine were similar too!!! lol

no reprogram will be needed for the intake and exhaust... i think the performance mods taht require a reprogram would be headers, cams, and superchargers.....

now... if i could keep my chip for more than a couple of days i'd be happy again... i tell ya it is hard sending the thing back to the dealer for reprogramming!

you can have ken reprogram yours for a firmer shift.... that is what i did after my first go around... now if we can only get mine fixed for the speedo recal....

Slammer, thanks for letting us know how things are working out. I have a 02 F-350 with a 5.4 and was going to order a diablo chip. Really appreciate the feedback, I'm going to order my chip this week!

One thing to keep in mind about the shift points is they aren't always that high. The Diablo is progressively aggressive (I'm a poet and don't know it) so the harder you are on the throttle the further up the shift points are. It should move them up to about 5.7K
