Now my truck ('94 F150 5.0 2wd automatic) which still has the hard start problem when warm has anouther problem:
Now when I start it it revs up to 1600-1800 rpm stays there for a while then comes down abruptly to almost stalling then flutters then comes to a normal idle.
Anyone know what this might be?
I just got a 94 F-150 5.0 2wd automatic. Had a Jasper 302 put in it after the original engine self destructed. After putting the engine in my truck did exactly as you describe. I was told it was called searching for idle. Tried replacing the air flow and 02 sensor. No affect. Replaced the EGR with a used one that was known to be good and that fixed it. My truck when it dropped to the almost stall part would also cause the check engine light to come on.
I am pretty sure there is more about this on here. Seems to be a common problem.
Hope that helps.
