sooping up my diff.
hey guys, i would like to know if it is possible to use 9'' ring and pinion in an 8'' housing?, if 9'' ring and pinion is to big what is the biggest i can go with an 8'' housing.OR what can i do to my 8'' diff to get me out of the hole?thank you.

Can't use the 'niner R&P, 8's are oddball critters as I'm sure you've found out. Might check with some of the restoration shops (That deals in restos & rods, and sorry, can't think of any names off the top of my head...they would be in PA anyway) as I think these folks would be in the "know" as to what is available or the best course of action for ya. Just to toss this out, might be cheaper in the long run to just swap in a 9", width should be close as these both (8" & 9") were used under some of the same vehicals. Good luck with that "critter"!
