Hi all. I'm getting one drum smoking hot when I drive and someone suggested that my parking brake cable may be sticking. What spots would I be best to check for sticking? Would the problem be along the cable somewhere, or is it likely in the drum where it attatches to the shoes?
I'm guessing parking brake over wheel cylinders because the cylinders are brand new (I know that doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with them - i just figured I be best to start looking elsewhere).
the cables run along the frame. there are 3 cables one to the pedal and one for each wheel. have someone push the e-brake and release it while watching where the 3 cables join together if ones sticking you'll notice. there are other causes of smoking drums like oil seal leak, bent or missing parts, weak springs.
