I'm thinkin red velvet for the '67 .
I dont know what paint product you are going to use, but I am using PPG, product names will differ. With PPG, the k-36 primer /surfacer can be used as a tintable primer under their urethanes. The jobber picked my tint (dmd) close in color to my finish coat. Then using p-sheet 169s, I used the k36 as a wet on wet, tinted sealer coat.
I have used Sikkens and Martin Senour tinted primer and they worked great for me. The mixing guy did tell me it is more of a marketing deal than anything else..they just put some pigment
in primer for color. The manufacturers say that with
color primer underneath a small chip will not
show up so much.
The downside ...when you are putting on your top coat it is
difficult to "read" what you are doing and how thick and what coverage you are getting because both prime and your next
coat [base coat or single stage top coat] can be pretty close to the same color.
