transmission temp gauge install

Is there a spot to put a temp sender on the transmission of a 99' F150? If so where is it.

tranny temp gauge

I can tell you I have installed two temp gauges on 'Fords, and fixin to install another one on my '00 Excursion. They are VERY helpful if you tow anything. I have bought my gauges from JEGs and they are B&N gauges. The instructions are good about where they should be installed. I took a small pipe cutter, cut the return line about one foot in front of the tranny pan and installed the sender unit there. I ran the wires up to the dash, keeping them away from heat and anything that might rub the wires. They work great. I thought the return line was goofy, but after researching, calling B&M and chatting a few years ago with fellow F150 people, they all confirmed that was where it should be. Hope this helps.

tranny temp gauge

forgot to tell you the first F150 was a '98 with the 5.4 auto (of course) and the SC with 4x4. Had K&N filter, 285 75R 16s, Gibson catback system, had a Chip in it, took it off after a year, was worthless. Paid $200 still have it because I feel like I would be stealing if I sold it to someone. Anyway, all these helped the towing, but the temp gauge was an eye opener on my towing habits.
