Any one have an easyer way of getting the back wheels off of their super duty?WOW their tuff.
I did'nt want to grease them in case any of the grease got on the rotor's
Ok this is great, I get a chance to help somone out, I use a light coat of good greese, and have had not problem as I rotate my tires about every 10,000. The supper duty generates alot of heat at the breaks, and the more you tow the more heat. It will almost bond the rim to the wheel hub. You can use anti-seze. I oil my lug nuts and keep it really slick but not too slick there. I very light coat of greese will work if you rotate often, anti-seze will most likly work better just have not got any yet. When you take your wheels off make sure you clean your hub very well where the rim centers on it, and clean your rim to and like I said keep it lubed and you should not have any problem. Sorry about the spelling, it is hard for me to type and spell yet. have fun.
Usually the tires are hard to get off if they have not been rotated every 6k. When you rotate the tires wipe the inside of the rim with a rag and put a little antisieze around where the rim sits on the hub it makes life easy.
I just put new tires on my 2000 SD and the shop said they had a time getting the rear wheels off... so when they put the new tires back on.. they put never sieze goop on them... thats all fine and dandy EXCEPT when you drive the truck the never sieze oozes out and onto the wheel and boogers em up bad.... pain in the butt to clean them....
I will be sure to removed my rear wheels and add some good high quality anti-sling lithium marine grease to the hubs. Glad I saw this post, I can avoid some sentence enhancers in the future.
BTW, some good high quality anti-sling lithium marine grease sounds like it might just fit the bill
