FE in 81 Bronco?
I have an 81 Bronco that I converted to leaf springs and swapped in a 77 F-250 running gear, solid Dana 44 up front and Dana 60 in the rear. I got an NP 205 with it, which is good since my NP 208 gave up the ghost shortly thereafter. The Bronc originally had a truck 4 speed but a C-6 became a better choice as I developed severe back and leg problems. I built a cheap 390 in 87 and substituted it for the 351M and have been happy with factory cast iron exhaust manifold. I am placing a Ford 427 with the Edelbrock RPM Performer heads in it and wondered if anyone has header recommendations, since custom is beyond my pocketbook. I have currently chosen Sanderson model FF427, but their FF390 and FF391 also look promising. I have ordered their FF427 and hope not to have to cut the passenger frame rail. If I do have to cut it, is there any special precautions or strengthening I have to do?
The rig is lifted about 6 inches by welding more frame under the leaf springs and using blocks and add a leafs in the rear. Thanks
