Question Decode these codes ?!?

'90 300 I-6 w/ E4OD transmission
I have the following codes, any ideas on what they mean ??

No KoEo codes
Continuous codes are:

49- SPOUT signal default to 10 degreees BTDC
or
1-2 shift error [E4OD ]

59- 2-3 shift error [E4OD]
or
Low Speed fuel pump failure

62- Converter clutch error [E4OD]

Since I have the E4OD transmisssion and all three codes indicate a problem with transmission, I suspect my problem has something to do with the transmission [duh !!!] Problem is I do not feel any problems with the transmission. I was checking codes because of slightly rough idle, tough to start/stalls cold, a bit of hesitation on acceleration. Any ideas, gents ??

Haven't checked running codes yet, too cold outside.

GW, my code book also says a 49 can be: "Electronic Distributorless Ignition System (EDIS) - Spark Advance Word (SAW) signal error." It then goes on to say what you mentioned.

I don't think it's the transmission. With your symptoms; hard starting, stalls, bad idle, hesitation on accelleration, I would suspect the ignition module. Especially with the "Spout signal default to 10* BTDC." Most auto parts stores will check the module for free. Before you do anything, check the SPOUT connection going to the distributor. If it's loose, unplugged, or the wire is broken, that would cause your problems.
Good luck.

EDIT: Oops, if it's EDIS you don't have a distributor. Regardless, check all the connectors, especially the one going to the coil pack.

I agree that it very probably is not the transmission; I just thought it odd that the transmission was the common theme to all three codes. More likely, it is something else that is causing the computer which controls the ECT to shift incorrectly.
At first I was thinking fuel pump, but the ignition module and connectors are logical -and cheaper-things to check first. Thanks for the suggestion.
