COP Cleaning
I was not sure where to put this, but thought it might get more viewing here. I had a truck in the shop that had got real muddy and dirty from the snow and ice work we just did. the driver went and steam cleaned the engine. Well the next day the truck would not run hardly. I had a code for mulitiple misfires. I pulled the coils off, and found little moisture, but did find corrosion, and grean stuff on the coils. I removed the rubber boot off each COP. Then removed the spring from the coil with a twisting motion. I cleaned the coil the best i could with a small file set. Then took a SPADE connector from my electrical box and slid it off and on the coil center spring pin till i got the rest clean as i could you can tighten the spade connector as tight as you like. Next i tighetend the spring end that went on the coil end with pliers. Put the spark plug spring back on the coil, make sure its on the coil GOOD. Then put the rubber boot back on. Put a little spark plug grease on the plug end then put back on the truck . Truck ran good. Thanks to Bill goodman for the electrical spade trick

It's amazing what kind of problems some water will cause eh?
I wonder how long the green stuff had been growing there and how long it hadn't been running 100% because of it.What did you use to clean the boot? I find that WD40 works well for cleaning them.
