Could any one and every one please tell me what books are good for beginners wishing to rebuild a 84 ford f150 from the frame up. I have very little major mechanical experience. but can follow directions like a pro and I am good with my hands.
start with either a Chiltons manual or a Haynes manual for your truck. they can be pickup used for about $5 on ebay (about $20 new)
This will outline the truck real well and its a good book to keep in the truck. It will also give you an idea if you really want to tackle the project.
there are also several books that cover ford engines
"rebuilding ford V8s" (351C-351M-400)
"rebuilding smallblock ford V8s" (302-351W)
"rebuilding bigblockblock ford V8s" (360-390-410-428)
"rebuilding 429/460 ford V8s"
later pick up a factory service manual for your truck (either a Cd-Rom or a paper manual)

These books are the ones I'm having trouble finding. thank you all
If you are new to the world of mechanicing in general...or of restoration... then look for the Petersen publications on Ebay... old books available cheap which are really great.... I grew up reading them from one end to the other many times....
Here is the number of one on there now... but they have had dedicated books for just ' transmissions' , ' engines', ' rear ends', etc....
3172983980 put this number in the Ebay search box.
