My 02 f-250 psd has the stock hitch with a 10,000 pound rating, what is the maximum that i can safely haul with this hitch.also, i have the 265 75r16 steeltex tires, i was planning on getting 255 85r16. what is the difference in height and width for these to tires, anyone know of any problems with putting on the 255's, will these fit on my stock rims? any brand suggestions? thanks in advance

Provided you use a weight distributing hitch, you should be able to tow 10K.

Sorry, I'm not at home where all my "calculators and formulas" for this stuff is. Moving one size either way for both the width and height is usually a safe bet.
I have a set of 255x85x16's on mine with the 430 gears and really like them. They are Durango brand made by Cooper, I have about 16K on them and they are less than half worn. They are about 1.5" or so taller, when I put my Diablo in I had it set for the difference in tire size for the shift points. I really didn't notice any loss in power with the taller tires or any difference in milage, even before the chip. With the chip I run the mid grade gas and generally get 12MPG.
I believe that in early 2001, Ford switched to a Class IV hitch with a max tow weight of 12,500 lbs. With the appropriate weight distributing hitch setup, you should be fine with that amount, providing you do not exceed the Gross Combined Weight Rating of 20,000 lbs.
