My 86 F-150 has the EFI 302, and not always, but sometimes, it will not idle smooth. Manual trans, and it does it with the clutch in or out. If you watch the tach you can see it go up and down about 100 rpms or so. It will never stall out though.
I just noticed yesterday that while standing in front of the truck with it idleing you can hear a sound coming from under the hood as the rpms change. Not the engine, but an odd sound that I can't really discribe.
What do you think? Should I get a new iac valve? egr valve? Anything else to check?
