I was at a salvage yard several years ago and someone came in and asked about converting his 2WD to 4WD and the salvageyard operator told him he had a wrecked 4WD he would sell him and he could put his cab on it, that that would be a much simpler way to go. That might be one option to consider. Of course the wrecked donor vehicle would have to be wrecked in the right way (not too bad frame or mechanically). Good luck whatever you decide.

I found an 87 4X4 donor truck. It has 4 shocks on the front instead of the two that my truck have. Do I need to change the brackets that hold the spings, or can I just use the ones that are on my 2X4 now?
