Help, I am a newbie so please be easy. I bought a ford alumimum intake and a old holley off ebay to install on my 1977 302. the new intake does not have an EGR valve just a threaded hole on the back of the manifold am I going to run into driveability problems with this setup. I also plan on headers and duals. Any suggestions.
What kind of intake did you purchase? Was it an aftermarket intake and what model Holley Carb do you have?In some cases you can just plug the unused vacuums. You will need to know where to hook up the vac. advance(on carb). Is it AOD or manual trans? Some Holley carbs are only applicable for AOD's and some for non-overdrive tranny(3speed Auto). For Headers I would suggest MAC longtubes if you have the clearance for them with offroad H pipe. What type of vehicle do you have?
The intake is factory alumumn intake. Don't know what year and the holley in off of a 1970 AMC 360. At least that is what holley told me. I have a 1977 F100 302 with a C4. The headers I bought were Hedmans I think the box had Black Jack on the outside. all this stuff was off Ebay so that is why I'm not to sure about some of the products.
Well then if the carb works on your intake, plug all the ports opening (on intake and carb) and be done with it . All you really need is a timed vacuum port (one that has zero vacuum at idle) to hook the distributor up too, and a source of vacuum ( at idle on intake) to hook up the tranny modulator up too, and a source to hook the pcv up too. Good luck
