HoseAttachment

What is the best way to join cooling system hoses to engine outlets/inlets? Some say use nothing and just put it on dry.
If a compound should be used what is the best?

Personal opinion: Put them on dry, using a good screw type clamp. Permatex or similar is not necessary and makes future removal and subsequent sealing difficult.

I actually use antisieze. It keeps the hose and metal from growing together if you have to take it loose later.

I can see where that would work, but I don't know if the anti-seize is petroleum based. If so, it might be hard on the rubber.
