Oil Leak Problem

My '88 BII 2.9 had an oil leak, so I installed the blue gaskets, made sure valve covers straight and all the little retainers were put back in place. Now, I still have an oil leak. With the vehicle sitting still, it doesn't leak, but after I drive the vehicle and park, it starts leaking. It leaks while I am driving the vehicle as I can smell the oil burning on the exhaust. I do not know where it is leaking from. Please Help !!!!!

It's most likely leaking from the rear main seal, but that's only a guess. To tell for sure you're going to have to look for the leak, which means cleaning around the engine so you can see where ithe oil is coming from.

Could also be from the distributor shaft seal

Thumbs down I'm thinking Rear Seal too

The only way to know for sure is to steam clean the engine & undercarriage. Make sure that you wrap the Dist & Carb with Freezer Bags & Zip Ties, You do not!!! want to get water in these places!!! Once it's clean you should be able to find that leak in no time. Good luck with your main drain, I hate shorts in the harness!
