the "auto" hubs on the new superdutys are basically the same design as the maunuals, the autos have a lock selction, and an auto selection, the manuals jus thave lock and unlock.....these hubs are much better than the junk that came on your truck raw.....theres no reason for him to switch out his hubs

even with what you guys say i was just wondering if the auto ones will work or is there alot more involved than just switching them

lol ok but why would you? they will leave you stranded loooooong before any manual will! I would not even consider it any more! if your too lazy to lock/unlock hubs....hell just leav'em locked up!

Just my .02 - my wifes truck will be on third auto hub drivers side today and 2nd pass. as of last year. They are convenient but a pain in the ....
I won't mention the scratches to the right from fender from sliding into the @#$$%% tree Saturday - when I couldnt engage 4X4.
