i heard that tsl's are terrible in the rain, is this true ? if so does it change on a fullsize? and do the radial tsl/sx last good on the street? 'lotta q's i know but thanks!
i have the SSR's.. kinda the same trread pattern. They are not tooo bad on the wet pavement - but you have to know how to drive them. A light foot and they are fine, but if you giuve a hiar too much gas and they go a spinnin'. As far as wear, i run mine at about 30psi and am having ok wear. Not the best, but what can you expect from a super swamper?
TSLs aren't so bad in the rain. Even with my one legged rear end I can still get going from a stop pretty quickly without drama. I try not to play Mario Andretti too much around the corners but even if you get it out of shape a little, the tires are still fairly predictable.
the ssr'd r nice in the wet stuff cause they have siping....my tsl's suck....they break loose with just a little too much throttle on the wet stuff (pavement that is) they hook better in mud then on wet pavement
First time I had my swamper radials in the rain I was pulling out from a stoplight turning left and I rolled the throttle on to my PSD in 2nd gear and it went to sliding sideways across the intersection. Well I had the stereo cranked and didn't realize what was happening for a sec until I looked down and saw the tach at the governor. It was a great time. I spent the rest of the day doing it. I don't remember my old swampers (bias) being so bad but it has gotten better as that was the first rain of the year and it's always pretty slick.
As a side note I found out the factory LS unit does work, you just have to spin them fast enough
