I am currently having a wheel adapter made for me so I can install my bigger tires and make up for the backspacing in the new wheels.Does anyone know where I can get the specs for the hub and rotor assembly for an 86 f150 2wd bolt length, threading, hub size and pretty much everything needed to have this guy across country machine me the right spacer I need.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.
I am installing a 4in lift with 33x1250x15 tires and in order to install those tires with no rub I will need some spacers. However,I talked to guyn today and I think the problem is solved. He's making the adapters so I can have more stability and have no rub.
If you get wheels with the correct backspacing, you don't need spacers. I had 33x12.50's on my unlifted '85 Bronco and didn't have any rubbing problems on or off road.
Too late I already bought the wheels and the backspacing is only off by about .5 inch but I got a real good deal on the wheels. So I'm just gonna add the adapter and get another inch of space in there for more stability and rub room. That should take care of it
You will most likely need longer studs to accomplish this. Best way to get him the stud dia, thread, and shoulder measurements would be to send him a stud for that truck, that way he has an example to check his work against. They are pretty cheap at the dealer if you dont want to take one out of the truck. For hub hole size, measure the inside of your rim hole, you can use the spare for that since it's not on the truck. Bolt circle on a Ford half ton is what, 5 on 5.5", or is that Chevy? Somebody here should know that...
I already got all the measurements for him.He has alot of experience in making them and has made them for alot of fords. The adapter he is making is 1.5 inches thick with 1.5 inch studs and yes the bolt pattern for my truck is 5 on 5.5.Here is his website if you want to check out what it should like or just want some info for yourself.WheelAdapter.com
i designed some wheel spacers on ProE the other day, im going to make them in our school machine shop, what is he making yours out of...material i mean
He is using steel for truck adapters and billet alum for cars. The studs are 1.5in in length and .5in width and the bolt pattern is 5-139.7.Idiomaticman if you want to know some more you should check out the website it should give you some more info.
