I have a 99 f250supercrew 4X4 that had the "door ajar" light on and the interior light would not go off. I looked up the subject in search and was surprized to find a remedy(wd40 on the locking mechanism). I tried the wd40 this morning and the light went off when I shut the doors!!!Thanks

Using WD40 is a short term fix only, next time vehicle is washed problem will re-appear. In my case the switches freeze because of the amount of water that travels freely throught the door when you use a pressure washer at the car wash. My switches have failed consistantly of the 2 months I have owned the truck. Ford said they would replace the defective switch, but once the truck is in the shop problem goes away, and they say they cannot do anything for me.
Now this might seem like a minor problem however, my alarm system relies on these switched to work correctly. I have had false alarms in the middle of night, ****ing of my neighbors, and leaving me feeling insecure about truck theft. And yes, this is the number one stolen vehicle in my city.
If Ford cannot make a door switch moisture proof it's little wonder they cannot fix our 6.0 PS problems.
