Question Preping for a rebuild

I am currently getting ready to rebuild my 351w. I currently have extremely low Compression on 3 Cylinders and a bad cam (possibly from a 302). My question is what would be my best option on rebuilding this motor on the cheap. (vary cheap.) Is there a cheap way to stroke this motor on the cheap. If so how would you go about doing it.

You guys Rock!!!

Scott

Well check out the prices of scat stroker cranks, reconditioning your stock 351 rods, and a set of stock style 302 pistons with your overbore, if that is cheap to you then, yeah. Stock rebuilds usually run $1000-1200 with them assembling it, which seems fair to me. If you measure all the clearances yourself and check for what needs to be bored, oversized, etc. and assemble, you should save yourself a fair amount of $$$$$. Call a local machinist, they should be able to provide all prices on the spot. Good luck

Thanks for the info

I will be doing most of the work myself. I am currently working at a garage learning to work on vehicals. I Have never totaly torn down an engine before so my boss will be letting me work in my own truck in the shop. (so I won't screw up a customers car.) Any extra info would be handy.

thanks again
