TRANNY, DRIVESHAFT, or REAR DIFF???
odometer at 76K+ miles, hearing & feeling hesitation & vibration when accelerating from "stop". Vibration or spinning sound worse when accelerating from stop while on an incline/hill. Almost feels as if something is having trouble engaging. Sounds as if it could be coming from mid or rear of truck. Concerned because sounding & feeling worse each day & I travel 30+ miles to work 1-way. Ideas on what this could be? Also, may or may not be related, yesterday & today smelled after 1-hour of 'stop & go' traffic, a smell of like burning rubber.
FYI: as far as I know, never tuned-up.
Also, since the winter/cold weather set in, the oil gauge remains illuminated and stuck at 0 until vehicle/engine warms up or up to 5-minutes after take off. Is this a problem or just a "Fordism"?
FYI: Oil level is okay and does this even with new oil change.
Any ideas or tips would be appreciated.

Does the oil light stay on? If not, it's probably the gauge. If so, then try a new sending unit.
Clean the mass-airflow sensor. Should cure the hesitation/shake. If not, then try the tune-up.
