86 db speakers are usually used in higher end audio systems paried with amps, where as 92db are usually more commonly used by people on a budget (most all of us). If you are looking for volume then the 86 are not for you, go with 92's or 93's, the high 80's usually have a better clarity than the 90's do, just because they're not pushing as hard as the 90's.
Nobody knows what "sound better" means. Certainly power and efficiency don't have anything to do with that. Listen to some different systems and pick the one you like.
Let's not get trapped into "loud" as sounding good (like I did).
A 5 watt amplifier has filled an auditorium with clean sound.
Power output from the amp and speaker capabilities are just "matching" numbers. They have nothing to do with sound quality.
I think that you need to forget power and efficiency numbers and just listen!
Just me, but I have never found a relationship between power and efficiency as they relate to quality.
Listen, and have a good time.
Just my opinion.
