Looking for a little help here from someone who lives in Kansas. I'm moving down there in about two months and I have a dilemma. I'm looking at buying a '04 Ford Lightning, but I'm wondering how much they cost down there? I'm trying to decide if I should just hold off and wait a couple of months and get one down there that might be cheaper, or just get one now. The '04 Ford Lightning's go for about $30-$32k up here. Would this truck be any cheaper down there, or about the same? I'd appreciate any help and advice.
To the Pratt or Arkansas City area. Any forum members from those area's? Looking at buying a sonic blue '04 Ford Lightning up here or down there, but I haven't decided yet. Is there any good Ford dealerships down there that I can call or have a web page that I can view? I'll be moving from Alaska to Kansas in about two months and my family will all be driving down there. I can't wait.
only SVT certified dealers can sell new Lightnings, I know none of the dealers in the Wichita area are certified, might do a search thru the Ford website and see who all is certified in Kansas. might even check into x-plan which should get you in right above invoice and save you some $$ but it will depend on who you work for.
What part of Kansas are you moving to? Here in the Shawnee / Lenexa area Shawnee Mission Ford and Olathe Ford are 2 of the largest as well as Bob Allen Ford.
Not sure if I talked to you before, my dad moved back to the lower 48 a few years back, but had lived in Wasilla for several years while working for ARCO (now BP). Hope you have a good move, and enjoy your new home.
I gave that dealership a call and they said they'll hook me up with a sonic blue '04 lightning. I can't wait.
jskufan,
I'll moving to Pratt or Arkansas City. I got a lot of family in Kansas and Missouri. I might also go to a college down there as well, but who knows right now.
Do any of you guys deer hunt? I'm an avid big game hunter and I love fishing.
CptSuperDuty,
I don't think I've talked to you before either. I'm new to this site. I just registered yesterday. Wasilla is a decent town, but the cold weather sucks up here. I hate the snow and the below zero temps.
I hunt. Deer, duck, geese, quail, Jayhawk, etc. Not much big game in Kansas though. Not much into fishing. I buy my vehicles from Laird-Noller in Lawrence too. My salesman is Eddie Murphy. We buy about 35 vehicles from them every 3 years. Noller is a good place to do business. Welcome to Kansas and to FTE.

We do have a bunch of whitetail deer and depending on which part of the state, mule deer. Elk are present although only in specific areas. Pratt would put you in a good upland bird area.
Reports of mountain lions are the talk of every coffee shop.
Geese are widespread and can be found in large numbers, Canadians and Snows. Ducks come and go but seem to have come back quite a bit. Quail is down in most parts of the state but was starting to come back a bit before this weather hit.
Antelope can be found in the extreme western part of Kansas (west of Kinsley ).

I take it that you are talking about the Noller salesman, not the other Eddie Murphy. Yeah, the sales guy is excellent. One of the few I have ever met that actually works to get deals done on what you need, or want.
I guess there is 'large' game in Kansas. When big game was mentioned, I thought of BIG game, like bear etc.
Yeah, I hunt moose, bear and caribou, plus other critters and things. I can't wait to hunt deer and elk though. Hearing a bull in the woods bugling is probably the best outdoor-related sounds to ever hear. Amazing.
Besides pro baseball, is there any minor league teams or like city teams? I love baseball! I'd actually like to play for a team or something for fun.
Anyone here a plumber? My current occupation. I hope I can handle the summer heat and those damn snakes. It's going to be real interesting.
And if your into baseball you probably know about the NBC World Series tournament held every summer..its the largest amatuer baseball tournament anywhere since 1931! teams are made up of mostly College ball players. http://www.nbcbaseball.com/history/
