I was just wandering how hard it would be to install cruise control on my 96 ranger. I have a 5 speed manual. Will there be nething to watch out for or should it just be a strait install.
Installed an aftermarket (about $100) from autozone. Used the magnet on the driveshaft instead of cutting into the wires. Anyhow it works very well and it holds it speeds as set. I think it was an audiovox. I mounted the controller just up under the headlight switch on the dash.
Took a couple of hours as I had some problems trying to tie into the wireharness thus the use of the magnet. Their customer/tech service was very good, and they walked me thru some problem areas. You do have to ground the controller for it to work, that was one of the problems I ran into.
