hi guys. I have an '86 F250 diesel with a crummy bench seat. I want o upgrade to a newer bench seat with cloth instead of vinyl. Does anyone know what years and models will and won't work. I'm looking for a direct bolt-in - no modifications this time.

Skaterock , do you have the seat which has the solid metal brace on the top outside? ( like mine).... does anyone know what year they got rid of that ? my 95 is like any regular seat..... so they figured out that was not correct at some point... anyone know when that point arrived in vehicles ?
hey guys.
thnaks for the input. No, I haven't consulted any local upholstery shops - figured it would be more cosy effective to just buy a whole new seat - but I'll get some quotes anyway. Yes, I do believe the seat has the metal brace - but I haven't lifted the seat cover yet. I do feel some metal i think beneath the cover if i put my hand horizontally across the upper seat back (think trying to make a move on a girl in the movie theater stance)
