Question on Your 6 Spd Overdrive

This is for anybody running V-10 with 6 spd and 4.30 gears. Do you guys use overdrive a lot? Seems like you can easily run 6th gear at about 45 mph on every day driving. Guess I'm too used to driving vehicles that rub around 15-1800 rpm's at this speed. Is it ok to run 6th gear under this scenario or am I in left field?? I luv this trk.

I have a '02 F250 with the V10, 6sp, and 4.30 and I shift into 6th (OD) at 45-50 unless I really need to pull some power up a hill.

i know that i dont have a v10, but i run mine in 6th gear cruisin round town doin just 35-40 mph.

40 to 45 is my shift point into 6th unless I'm towing.

I drive in overdrive around 40 to 45 too. Right after I got it I even tested the V10 powere by setting the cruise at 35 in OD and went up a hill, and didn't lose any speed. When I'm accelerating and going through the gears I usually get up to speed before shifting to OD, but not always. Then I just leave it until I slow way down or need to deaccelerate. I also usually skip 4th when I down shift and go from OD to 3rd.
