The PVC is located on the top of the pass. side valve cover. Go to the auto parts store and buy one then you will see what it is. very simple thing to change.
To do a compression check you will need a gauge to do so. Then you remove the coil wire and ome spark plug and insert the fitting for the compression gauge and crank the motor over a few times and document the reading. perform the test on all the cylinders the same way. They should all be with in 20% of each other.
