I am planning on buying my boyfriend a new exhaust system for his 2004 F-150 FX4. I really do not know a lot about this, so some input will be greatly appreciated. I know that he wants a deep roar, not a high-pitched sound these little hondas make. If anyone could throw some suggestions my way, that would be great!
Hello kel3nc. I am not sure what is available for the 2004s yet, since they just hit the market. If you would like, I can point you to my website that has a two different sound clips of two different mufflers. One is a Gibson (quiet in the cab, decent rumble at the tailpipe) and a Bassani (elevated sound in the cab and great rumble at the tail pipe). I think he might like the Bassani. Have you posted this question over in the 2004 forum yet? They may also be able to help you decide. If you would like those clips, just respond back here, or email me through my profile.
That's really very nice! Lucky man.....I bet, if your a little sneaky, and most women are, you can probably get him to tell you what he wants without him knowing it.....and if things don't workout with him.....I have an 84 that needs an exhaust!
Seriously, I'm sure he already has an idea, and with the new truck and all.....well......it might be better if you pry it out of him....
Where were you 30 years ago?
Yes, I would somehow try and coax what he wants for it. It might be like getting someone a dog for christmas... they dont see it coming, might not necessarily like it, and cant really back out of it. I will send you the link via email (for some reason, whenever I post a link from it here, it never opens).
OK, I just tried to email you the link, but it says "Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails through this board". You can either change youre settings, or CONTACT ME HERE .
Just get a measure of the overall length of the current muffler, and have any exhaust shop/gas station/mechanics shop cut you a piece of exhaust pipe. It should only cost you 20-40 dollars. That is the easiest way to do it.
WHEELMAN1 hey thanks for that one, I just want try and see whats going to happen with it straight thru. I just got a diablo preditor and it really made a difference. guages are on the way and I want see what my egts will be like. I measured the exhaust on the truck and its 31/2 now trying to see if I have to go to 4in.or leave it like it is now maybe if its straight thru and not to loud i,ll be ok and save money on 4in. system. thank you for your input, 01psd
