I've been getting some strange results searching the boards at times. I remember seeing a post about how to clean the MAF filaments and I've tried searching for it several times to no avail. (Being new around here I didn't wana be the guy who asks stuff thats already been aswered 100 times!
Are there any tips or tricks to searching that I may be missing?
The default setting for how far back the search searches has been only 30 days. If the post you are looking for is older than that, it won't find it because it doesn't look back that far. Just need to tell it how far back it should search. One thing I've found important to check.
Thanks. I did make sure I was searching for all dates. The search is definitely acting strange. I just read a few posts that mentioned MAF. (Although they didn't address the specifics of cleaning it). Anyway, I did a search for MAF and it returned zero results. I also made sure it was searching titles and descriptions of posts.
I'm not the guy you were referring to, but I have read some things on cleaning the MAF sensor on an all Explorer forum. You remove the MAF and either spray the filament with a good electronics cleaner or soak it in 200proof ethyl alcohol (also known as Everclear), don't attempt to touch the filaments (in fact don't even think about it) as they are very, VERY fragile. That should work for you.
