Went to Cincinnati this weekend with the family to see my wife's sister's new baby. I snuck out for a couple hours on Saturday to visit with George Hartman. He's still finding a little time to work on Earl though he has a lot less of it lately. It's that old restorer's lament, "time or money but never both". I sat out in the garage and talked trucks with George and his brother, Greg, before we grabbed some lunch. George had the heat on and it was surprisingly warm given the recent deep freeze the midwest is experiencing. George treats Earl right! Well, at least until the heat bill comes and Barb pulls the plug.
It was great to see a restoration in progress. As George recently reported, he has the engine in the chassis and could drive it with a bucket strapped to the frame. I'm hoping to have mine at this stage by next fall. Earl is definitely in good hands. I always enjoy visiting with FTE members. And this time I could actually carry on a conversation unlike the Supernationals when I lost my voice.
Glad to hear earl's running. I can't wait to see the progress. Anything your upto this winter? If your ever around the akron area shoot me an e-mail, you or anybody else are more than welcome and I'd love to show anyone the truck. Stay warm, -4speed
