it is 25 degrees, i have a 38 gal tank, 25 percent no.1, and 75 percent no.2 diesel fuel with a 32 ounce bottle of power service additive in tank, ran fine all mourning, then on the way to town it started missing real bad, white smoke up the but, got her home, and on the way home it would accelerate until engine evens out with speed, then miss bad, cracked open injectors and find 1 for sure not firing, possibbly 2, couldn't tell on that one, checked shreader valve for air, no air found, what do you all think, could it bee stuck open injectors or what, i do have a new set here but it is nasty outside today so haven't had time to put in. please help.
Sure sounds like injector time.Yuo were getting fuel when you cracked them lines, right? Its not that big of a job to install those injectors, just be sure the copper seals come out with the old injectors and use new ones going back in.You could try just replacing the ones you know are bad untill it warms up a bit.
well i replaced the ones that were missing, but still after driving the truck about 5 miles it starts to miss real bad again, and if i shut it off and restart it it will run perfect with no miss at all, and then when it runs for awile it will start to smoke and then get heavy smoke and miss bad again, crack the lines and it is the same injectors missing every time.
Are the missing ones the lines that come out of the top of the inj. pump? Just a theory. Usually any air will make it take off for a second then die out until it gets fuel again.
Might want to take the little black return fitting out of the pump and see if there's anything in it besides the little glass ball.
