"D" means it was cast in the 70's "1" means the year of the decade (not necessarily the year used, an engine cast in 1971 could have been used anytime after that year... for several years anyway) "V" means it was cast for the Lincoln car line (doesn't necessarily mean it came out of a Lincoln though). "E" means "Engine part" "6012" is the "engine block" designation... It means it is an engine block (That ones tough ain't it
) A2B indicates a manufacturing upgrade or change from original. Maybe someone with more info could help out with the changes. I don't know which ones are which.
