Litte heat
The truck sat for a year before I bought it.
I have replaced the water pump, heater core, thermostat and checked all hoses. The truck runs great and the gauge inside reads normal heat but I am not getting any heat. I have pulled both hoses off of the heater core with the truck running and up to temp. and am getting almost no flow through it. I have put the thermostat in the boiling water and it works fine. Have heard about air locks, could that be the case and how do you fix it.

R U saying you aren't getting flow thru the hoses or through the core? You can check the core by blowing air through it or by a garden hose. Since it's a new core, it shouldn't be clogged, but when the engine 'sat' for such a long time, there's no telling what may have come loose in the cooling system. The core isn't very large, so it doesn't take much to clog it. Run the water through each way, maybe that will clear any blockage. If you meant you aren't getting enough flow through the hoses, maybe the stat is upside down. With the engine running and the hose from the water pump disconnected, there should be a very strong stream of water/coolant. If all those things are good, make sure you have the system completely filled with coolant and the recovery tank filled also. Something else to check is the radiator cap. If it is not new, replace it with a new one....cheap insurance! One more thing: for good heat the stat should be a 195° stat
Hope any of these helps solve your problem! Dave
