'87 BII Auto Tranny
I'm having a small problem with my tranny I believe. I just got the Bronco a few weeks ago and it ran good right after I got it. A day or two ago I noticed the transmission starting to slip. I dropped off my fiance yesterday at work and checked the fluid in the parking lot cause that was the best place to start. There wasn't any on the dip stick. I went and got a qt. of ATF and filled it by the dip stick. It brought it up to the marks on the dip stick. I noticed there is much less slipping, however, there is still a small amount when the truck shifts into OD.
Any other suggestions as to why or how to fix this. I'm going to do a complete oil, tranny, and coolant change in the next week or so. Thanks.

Put the transmission in the back of another truck, leave the tailgate open. Back up to a cliff real fast and hit your brakes really really hard. That would be my idea. With 3 bad transmissions in 3 of these things, I now realize that they're not built for everyday wear.

Dont waste your money on changing the fluid. Just have it overhauled. If it has slipped once it has clutch problems and a trans flush wont help. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but someone has to let you know.
