16 inch Wheels/Tires
I have a set of Porsche "phone dial" wheels in 16 inch size, and a set of H&R spacer/adapters that allow them to mount up. How wide can I go tire wise? I was thinking 225/50-16 on all four wheels...

The Porsche wheels have been sitting around in my shed for a while, and I think they would look cool on the van. I don't intend to go autocross this thing or anything like that! The current wheels on my '97 van are steel with the common 5-hole plastic covers, so the "phone dials" with their 5 holes will almost look stock. The current tires are getting a bit worn, so I want to replace them.
These wheels came from a 928 and have a 65 mm offset- I suppose that this won't be any problem, since a thin spacer will sit between them and the hub. What width tire should I use? Mustangs and 928's came with 225's....

To keep the same tire height on your van, you should get something like a 225/55/16 tire. That should fit in the wheel well, assuming you can get the right offset with your spacers.
