Tymar or not?
I'm thinking of getting a Tymar intake for my 99. I don't want to have to move my battery if I don't have to.
Is this neccesary to do ?Where would be the best place to purchase the Tymar at? I'm new at this deisel thing so any help would be appreciated.

You can get the Tymar form Dale at www.tymarperformance.com I think that this is the website. We have one on our Powerstroke and it is a nice setup. Hope this helps

I think you have to pull the batterie out to remove the air box. The air box and batterie tray are one piece. Dale at Tymar has the replacements for like $32 or something like that. But trust me, I just put one on my 96 psd dually, you WON'T be sorry.

Thanks for the replies. I have e-mailed Dale and hopefully can get a little more information on it. From all the information I have read it sounds like its a really good product. I pull a lot of weight with my truck and any little bit of extra power and mileage I can get is a welcome thing.

On my 99 the air box and battery tray are two separate pieces. Just remove three bolts, very simple 5 minute job. No need to touch the battery.
The turbo does spool up quicker, I think, sounds like it anyway. No increase in mileage that I've noticed.
Make your own setup, save some bucks. Search the forums there are very detailed posts that tell you how to build the intake.
