i'm trying to make my f250 run...i charged a new battery and replaced the cap/rotor. i checked the plugs and they aren't fouled up. i tried starting it and i find out there isn't even any power goin to the distributor, or even to the coil.
could the ignition module be shot? its the stock box and the truck has 170k miles on it.
If the new one isnt too expensive I would go with the new one. Thoes modules are bad for going out. You may not find one any better than the one you got at a bone yard.
could be the pickup coil inside the distribitor under the roter just had this happen on an 86 replace module cap rotor coil wouldn't fire replace pickup sparked right off you should be able to check if it is good but can't remember how my local autozone boys do though
the engine cranks but just doesn't start...i'm tearing into the steering column to get at the ignition switch. if its not this...i'm going to replace the distributer w/ one i took off of a '77 e100. it has 130k miles on it so it should still be good.
