You'd really be better off with the chip AFTER you have done some semi-serious (maybe internal) mods to the engine.

The chip really optimizes what mods have been done to the engine--which is why they want to know what has been done in that regard when you order--but it will help shifting on a slushbox and tweak the timing a bit....still better with some mods to add to it. I don't see 15 ponies on a stock engine, though....unless it's that "I paid $240, so it must be that much better!" effect.

Maticuno is right on the throttle cable. If you do it right it shouldn't affect your idle. The slack keeps the throttle from fully opening when you floor it. But doing the mod will also improve throttle response overall.

The #'s I gave for chips were just approximate based on what I recall reading off of the various maker's web sites. If your engine is mostly stock, expect improvements on the lower end. If you've done some improvements (port 'n polish, header, cam, etc.). You might be able to see #'s from the high end of that range. While it's not the cheapest hp add on, it is one of the easier ones. Don't forget to add in the cost of having to use premium 93 gas.
