I have recently rebuit my e4od out of my 93 f150 302. I also installed a b&m shift kit (heavy duty towing) now my problem is that when the truck is supposed to shift from 1 to 2 it feels bogged down almost as if it is shifting from 2 to first but I dont think that the engine rpm's are raising that much. If any one has any idea what the problem could be then I would apreicate it. MY only other option is to take it to a transmission shop.
They are so complicated that I would never suggest rebuilding one yourself!
You also need a special tool kit to do it to prevent damaging some components.
I built hundreds of them and seen so many problems from small, simple mistakes, so many things that can be mised.
And if the initial problem was in the electric system, and it does not get fixed first, rebuild it again.
For example the center support is torqued to 180 inch lbs, any more and you can warp the case and trash the trans!
An E4OD will start out in 2nd gear if manually selected(for less wheelspin on slippery surfaces according to the owners manual). This might sound too simple, but is the gear selector cable adjusted properly? It might be "detenting" between first and second.
